Dumpster Rental in Tallahassee, FL

It's easy to save $50 to $150 on roll off dumpsters in Tallahassee, FL.  Simply rent directly from a waste hauler that is locally owned and operated. Compared to nationwide roll off services like Waste Management, local is much cheaper for temporary dumpsters.  Out-of-state "budget" dumpster brokers cost more as well, adding at least 10% to the cost of locally operated companies.  Rent a dumpster locally and save!

The Lowdown on Waste and Recycling in Tallahassee, FL

The City is the exclusive provider of residential and commercial waste collection

The City collects bulky items every other week, but doesn’t collect construction and demolition (C&D) debris or large quantities of bulky items as part of its normal curbside collection service.

You can request a special pickup by calling 891-4YOU (4968).

If you hire a contractor for renovation or demolition work, it’s their responsibility to properly dispose of the waste debris. This includes handling the roll-off container removal and proper disposal of all materials.

Earn “Cash for Trash”

The Cash for Trash program allows you to earn a $5 credit on your utilities bill simply for dropping off e-waste or household hazardous waste at the Solid Waste Services location at 2727 Municipal Way.

No construction/demolition debris, household garbage or yard waste is accepted.

TIP: Bring a utility bill with you to prove residency.

Call 891-4YOU (4968) to find out the next Cash for Trash event.

Recycling Initiatives in Leon County

The County is capable of recycling 100% of C&D wastes, and it reuses materials whenever possible. It encourages its residents and business owners to do the same. Some examples:

  • Make sure all C&D materials are separated from other household trash and disposed of at the proper facility (Marpan Recycling, 6020 Woodville Hwy. Call 216-1006)
  • Dispose of hazardous waste and e-waste properly (drop off at: 7550 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee. Call 606-1803)
  • Reuse/Recycle valuable materials before demolishing a structure (i.e., copper pipes, salvageable lumber, HVAC units, wiring, etc.)
  • Donate leftover paint and other household products to the Swap Shop. You can also get free paint and other useful household products for your next remodeling project here.

How much does it cost to rent a dumpster?

Usually a phone call is required to the hauler to get an exact price because the type of debris and the city you live in can change the price significantly.  Some waste removal companies listed on Hometown Dumpster Rental do publish their prices.  If so, you can find the link to their prices on their company profile.

Dumpster rental pricing can actually be a bit complicated if you've never rented one before.  One feature of temporary dumpster prices that surprises first time renters... you can actually end up paying more than you thought, depending on the weight of your dumpster.  Check out our beginner's guide to dumpster rental prices for more info.

We've also done a number of nationwide pricing surveys and comparisons that can help you understand costs in your area.
