What can and can't go in a dumpster rental?
Dumpsters are a convenient way to dispose of a variety of debris—household junk, construction and demolition debris, concrete, shingles, and so much more.
However, there are certain items that most dumpster providers do not accept, including household hazardous waste (HHW) and e-waste.
Where do I dispose of e-waste and household hazardous waste?
The Swap Shop at the Household Electronics and Chemical Collection Center (HEC3) accepts this type of waste. (You can also get free automotive fluids, paint, and household products here.)
You can drop off a wide range of HHW and e-waste, including but not limited to:
- Electronics
- Batteries
- Paint
- Pool chemicals
- Automobile fluids
- Light bulbs of all kinds
Items NOT accepted include:
- Appliances
- Biological, medical, or radioactive wastes
- Explosives
- Medicines
