The average cost to rent a dumpster in the United States is between $250-$750. The size of the dumpster, the amount and type of debris, your location, and other factors affect how much your particular dumpster rental will cost.
Renting a dumpster that isn’t big enough to hold all your debris could force you to pay extra in one way or another:
- Weight overage fees if the weight of the load exceeds the quoted weight allowance
- Renting a second dumpster to finish the job
- If the truck driver has to unload some of the debris (in cases when you’re not there when the dumpster is picked up) to conform to local transport laws, you may incur additional fees for the labor.
