Waste Info and Roll-Off Bin Rentals

It’s an open market for roll-off dumpster haulers in Huntsville

You are free to hire any licensed waste hauler to suit your dumpster rental needs. You don’t necessarily have to use your curbside waste hauler in this case.

The same is true for commercial dumpster service. You can choose a licensed waste hauler that best serves your needs.

The City allows private waste haulers to compete for your business, helping to drive down prices and boost overall service.

***The City won’t take any type of construction or demolition debris via curbside trash hauling service. A dumpster, or hauling the debris yourself, are the only options in this case.

Huntsville Municipal Code

Where does my trash and garbage go once picked up?

Most waste in Huntsville is trucked to the local waste-to-energy plant located at 5251 Triana Blvd. in Huntsville. Up to 690 tons of waste is processed here daily.

The waste here is incinerated in 2,000 degree furnaces, which produces valuable steam energy. It also reduces waste volumes by 90%. That’s like reducing the amount of trash in a fully loaded garbage truck down to the amount of waste that would fit in a wheel barrow.

How to safely dispose of household hazardous waste (HHW)

Drop off HHW to the Handle With Care Collection Center Building located at the Huntsville Landfill, 4100 Leeman Ferry Road. HHW is accepted at no charge to residents on the first Saturday of each month from 8am until noon.

The types of items that are accepted here include old TVs, computers, lawn/garden chemicals, motor oil, batteries and household cleaners. If you have any questions, call the SWDA at the number below.

How much does it cost to rent a dumpster?

Usually a phone call is required to the hauler to get an exact price because the type of debris and the city you live in can change the price significantly.  Some waste removal companies listed on Hometown Dumpster Rental do publish their prices.  If so, you can find the link to their prices on their company profile.

Dumpster rental pricing can actually be a bit complicated if you've never rented one before.  One feature of temporary dumpster prices that surprises first time renters... you can actually end up paying more than you thought, depending on the weight of your dumpster.  Check out our beginner's guide to dumpster rental prices for more info.

We've also done a number of nationwide pricing surveys and comparisons that can help you understand costs in your area.
