Because it can be difficult to determine the right size dumpster you need for your particular project, and because most people find more items to get rid of when there’s a dumpster sitting in their driveway, we recommend getting a dumpster one size bigger than you think you will need. For example, if you have approximately 20 yards worth of junk in your basement to get rid of, round up and get a 30 yard dumpster rather than a 20 yard. This will minimize the chances of being slammed with weight overage fees or having to rent another dumpster should you end up with more debris than you thought.
